In preparation for the upcoming implementation of the UP System’s new finance and HR systems, selected UP Open University (UPOU) employees undergo a one-day orientation organized by the UPS Roll-out Team for UPOU. This was held on 25 September 2024 at the UPOU Academic Residences Cafeteria, UPOU Headquarters, Los Baños, Laguna.  These new information systems, developed by the Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research of UP Diliman will replace the existing University Information System (UIS). Today, 26 September 2024, the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) and Kaohsiung Medical University (KMU) celebrated a significant partnership by signing both a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) at KMU, Taiwan, coinciding with the International University Social Responsibility Forum. Three of the UP Open University officials joined the Civil Service Commission 2024 Leaders and HR Symposium (LHRS) as concurrent speakers. In celebration of the UP Day of Remembrance on 21 September 2024, the University of the Philippines Open University will be releasing three new open educational resources (OERs) as part of the FastLearn episodes created by the UPOU Center for Open and Digital Teaching and Learning (CODTL). FASTLearn or Flexible and Accelerated Short Micro-Videos for Teaching and Learning is a program in UPOU Networks that features reels-like videos of learning objects. The activity aims to promote knowledge sharing and cooperation between the two institutions.
