Dr. Melinda dela Peña Bandalaria, Chancellor of the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU), has been chosen by the Asian Association of Open Universities (AAOU) as the recipient of the AAOU Meritorious Service Award 2021. The AAOU Meritorious Service Award is given to recognize outstanding services and contributions to open and distance education. The AAOU Executive Committee selected the recipient of this award based on dedication, effort and contributions upon recommendations by the AAOU Adjudication Committee. UPOU Chancellor Speaks at 2020 Global MOOC Conference

Dr. Melinda dela Peña Bandalaria, Chancellor of the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU), was one of the speakers at the 2020 Global Massive Open Online Conference (MOOC) Conference held on 9-11 December 2020. The conference was organized by Tsinghua University (China) and UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education (UNESCO IITE) with the theme “Learning Revolution and Higher Education Transformation.” Chancellor Bandalaria spoke as part of Forum 3 which focused on the resource sharing for MOOCs and Global Higher Education Cooperation.
