Dr. Melinda dela Peña Bandalaria, Chancellor of the UP Open University (UPOU), has been reappointed for another term as International Council for Open Distance Education (ICDE) Ambassador for Open Education Resources (OER) and member of the OER Advocacy Committee (OERAC). The newly-elected members of the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) University Student Council (USC) gathered for their Oath-taking Ceremony on 16 December 2022, in a hybrid setup. Some attendees were present in person at the UPOU Headquarters' Audio Visual Room, while others attended virtually via Zoom. Dr. Ricardo T. Bagarinao, Dean of the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) Faculty of Education (FEd), presented his units’ accomplishments in a public forum held last 13 December 2022. His six-year term will end on 31 January 2023. Dr. Bagarinao highlighted the revision of the curriculum of FEd programs, the writing bootcamp, and the research colloquium as part of the faculty’s research journeys. The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) held its 26th Commencement Exercises on 10 December 2022, at 5:00 p.m. at the UPOU Oblation Plaza. The momentous occasion marked the return of UPOU's annual tradition of holding face-to-face graduation rites for its graduates.
