UP Open University (UPOU) welcomed a group of students from Cornell University at the UPOU Headquarters in Los Baños, Laguna last 23 June 2023. Led by Dr. Manny Reyes, a Research Professor & Agroecological Engineer from the Sustainable Intensification Innovation Lab at Kansas State University, the Cornell University delegation consisted of nine students pursuing diverse fields of study, including agriculture and life sciences, engineering, and industrial labor relations. Dr. Finaflor F. Taylan, the program chair of the Diploma in and  Master of Social Work (DMSW), in the Faculty of Management and Development Studies (FMDS), was awarded the Meritorious Service Award by the Philippine Association of Social Workers, Inc. (PASWI) Batangas Chapter in its Annual Awards 2023. The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) engaged in the forging of alliances with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through the inking of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) held last 19 June 2023. The agreement aims to upskill professionals and other stakeholders through the offering of applicable courses. Mr. Lexter Mangubat, the  Deputy Director and Information Systems Researcher of Educational Media Production, Center for Open and Digital Teaching and Learning, participated as visiting scholar in the 2023 Asian Association for Open Universities (AAOU) Staff Exchange Fellowship Program held on 21 May 2023 to 2 June 2023 at the Korea National Open University (KNOU) in Seoul, Korea.
