New partnerships were forged and sealed by the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) on 01 March 2019 as part of the celebration of its 24th Anniversary. A free eye checkup was organized by the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) Office of the Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration (OVCFA) through the Human Resources Development Office (HRDO). The twenty-first day of February 2019 marked the National Earthquake Drill for the Philippines, which the University of the Philippines (UP) dubbed as #UPShakeDrill. All constituent units of UP, including the UP Open University (UPOU), prepared for and participated in the event. The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) collaborative project with the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) entitled "PLDT Infoteach Outreach Program" bagged an Anvil Silver Citation for Outstanding Education Program at the 54th Anvil Awards: Gabi ng Parangal held on 30 January 2019 at the Marriott Grand Ballroom in Newport City.
