It has been the tradition of the UP Open University (UPOU) to hold a blood donation drive every April. This 2019, the UPOU Blood Donation Drive was held on 10 April at the UPOU Oblation Hall in Los Banos, Laguna. Of the 78 volunteers, there were 45 successful blood donors. Despite a decrease in the number of successful donors compared to previous years, most of the donors this time were employees of the university. With the theme "STEM Education Towards Education 4.0", 14 scholars of the Department of Science and Technology - Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) who are currently enrolled in the PhD in Education program offered by the Faculty of Education (FEd), University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) participated in the 5th National Research Conference in Science and Mathematics Education (NRCSME) on 28 February - 1 March 2019 at Oriental Hotel, Legazpi City, Albay.
