As a response to numerous calls from UP Open University (UPOU) staff members from other offices,  the UPOU Faculty of Information and Communication Studies (FICS) offered a special edition of FICS MeetUPS on 04 June 2021. Part 2 of OPEN Talk’s “Para-paraan Yan” focused on Teaching Reading to Adolescent Learners

The OPEN Talk Episode entitled “Para-Paraan Yan!” was held on 19 May 2021 from 6:00 to 7:00 PM via live streaming. This OPEN Talk episode featured another discussion on teaching reading during remote learning. Call for Proposals for the Sustainable Institution Building for Open Learning (SIBOL) Program

The UP Open University has launched the Sustainable Institution Building for Open Learning (SIBOL) program to provide mentoring and technical support to state colleges and universities (SUCs) that are interested in offering — as a public service — a teacher training program in online, blended, or remote learning for a partner institution or organization.  Interested SUCs are invited to view the details of the call for proposals and submit a proposal using the SIBOL online form available at the SIBOL website. Dr. Melinda dela Peña Bandalaria, Chancellor of the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU), has been chosen by the Asian Association of Open Universities (AAOU) as the recipient of the AAOU Meritorious Service Award 2021. The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) in collaboration with the UPOU Alumni Foundation Inc. (UPOUAFI) will be holding its first-ever Alumni Congress on 30-31 July 2021.
