Established on 23 February 1995, the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) pioneered in online teaching and learning and continues to play a leading role in the study and practice of open learning and distance education in the Philippines.

Set to Pamantasang Hirang, the Academic Procession marked the solemn opening of the graduation ceremony held on 6 December 2025 at UPOU’s International Convention Center (ICC). University Marshal Prof. Roda L. Tajon led the graduating students and their Program Chairs, with Prof. Jean A. Saludadez guiding the faculty and Assoc. Prof. Aurora V. Lacaste leading the officials. ![]()

The processional symbols were carried with honor with University Registrar, Asst. Prof. Blancaflor P. Arada, bearing the Mace of the Chancellor, and Atty. Roberto M. J. Lara, Secretary of the UP Board of Regents, carrying the Mace of the President. ![]()
