UPOU Welcomes BulSU for Benchmarking Activity

UP Open University (UPOU) welcomes visitors from Bulacan State University (BulSU) for a benchmarking activity on 8 February 2023. 

The BulSU team consisted of Dr. Ruben E. Borja II, Director of Educational Development Office; Dr.. Remedios O. Azacon, Asst. Director of Educational Development Office; Dr. Joseline M. Santos, Asst. Director for Teaching and Learning Technologies; Mr. Alfredo P. Carpio Jr., Curriculum Specialist; Ms. Princess Gerbie Durante, Specialist for Learning and Materials Development; and Ms. Leonora F. de Jesus, Head of Instruction Design.

The faculty of the BulSU benchmarked how UPOU implements open and distance learning, assessment for online/flexible teaching and learning, administrative/organizational structure, and Open Educational Resources (OERs). 

The benchmarking presentation was led by the Director of the UPOU Office of Public Affairs (OPA), Dr. Myra C. Almodiel, at the Conference Room of the UPOU Headquarters, Los Baños, Laguna.

UPOU has been providing assistance to higher education institutions in transitioning to technology-assisted, online, or flexible learning. This initiative is part of UPOU’s efforts in public service towards capacity building of open and distance learning teachers and practitioners in compliance with Republic Act No. 10650.

A lantern that blends tradition, sustainability, and technologyThis coming Christmas season, we look back at UPOU student Sherry Mae Alcano’s “NINGNING” star lantern.
