The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) announces the holding of ASEANnale 2018 on 28 February to 2 March 2018 at the Asian Center, University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City. The ASEANnale 2018 will feature the joint conduct of the 1st Film and Multimedia Competition and Exhibition, and the 2nd International Symposium on ASEAN Studies (ISAS). ASEANnale's aim is to share the ASEAN knowledge through films, multimedia and research, and is envisioned to be the space for sharing voices, collaboration and networking among ASEAN higher education students and faculty, and allow ASEAN academicians, experts, filmmakers and multimedia artists and scholars to engage in public discourse on ASEANology and promote the community of scholars on ASEAN.
With the theme, "Capturing the Spirit of ASEAN in Digital Times," ASEANnale will focus on three current concerns shared and addressed by numerous sectors in the ASEAN region, namely, Diaspora, Disasters and Democracy. Deadline for the submission of entries for film and multimedia competition and submission of abstract for panel, poster and paper presentation is on 19 January 2018.
ASEANnale is a joint undertaking of UPOU with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), University of the Philippines (UP) System, UPOU ASEAN Studies Graduate Program, UP Diliman Asian Center, UP Diliman College of Mass Communication, TVUP, UPOU Foundation, Inc.
