All students, faculty members, administrators, policymakers, researchers, and practitioners in education are invited to submit research papers for presentation at the upcoming Tri-Conference that the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) is organizing. The deadline for submission of abstracts is on 23 May 2023.

This 2023, UPOU has collaborated with the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA), UPOU Foundation, Inc., and the Philippine Society for Distance Learning (PSDL), for the conduct of a three-conference-in-one with shares the theme “Sustainability in Education: Intersections, Ideation, Innovations.” The hybrid events will take place online and at the UPOU Headquarters in Los Baños, Laguna, on 22-25 August 2023. Plenary and paper presentations will be delivered online, while unconference sessions, including a Hackathon and Cultural Festival, will be conducted onsite.

The conference series of activities features the International Conference on Open and Distance eLearning (ICODeL), the biennial international conference series on open and distance e-learning; International Symposium on Education and AI Convergence (ISEAC), to bring together experts and practitioners from various fields to explore the latest advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and their applications in education; and the International Symposium for ASEAN Studies (ISAS) that aims to foster regional and global dialogue and exchange of ideas on how education can address the challenges of environmental degradation, social inequality, and economic development while promoting sustainability in the ASEAN region and beyond.

This tri-conference aims to discuss the need of the educational sector to reflect on how flexible ways of both teaching and learning can contribute to addressing sustainability issues and raise innovative ideas to address and seize opportunities for the betterment of the education system. The tri-conference also aims to foster collaboration in promoting the achievement of SDGs through this tri-conference with a concentration on education, sustainable agriculture, food security, and technological advancement. Furthermore, the partnership also intends to provide a platform for the exchange of ideas and best practices in technology-enabled education, sustainable agriculture, and food security; facilitate regional and global dialogue and exchange of ideas on how education can address the challenges of environmental degradation, social inequality, and economic development while promoting sustainability in the ASEAN region and beyond; and, provide a premier venue for the sharing of ideas through various activities.
