The University of the Philippines Open University participated in the ASEAN-China Digital Education Alliance Inaugural Meeting. Dr. Melinda dela Peña Bandalaria,  UPOU Chancellor, participated online, while Dr. Jean A. Saludadez, UPOU Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration, attended at the Conference Center, Guiyang, Guizhou, China, during the 2023 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week on 29 August 2023.

The ASEAN-China Digital Education Alliance (ACDEA) is comprised of 56 institutions as founding members from the ASEAN (17) and China (39). The Open University of China (OUC) serves as the Secretariat of the ACDEA.

ACDEA aims to develop a comprehensive, pragmatic, and inclusive education cooperation partnership in ASEAN countries and China, synergize reform efforts and quality education resources, share up-to-date policies, outcomes, and best practices in the field of digital education; utilize emerging technologies to develop optimal digital education solutions; and facilitate the high-quality development of digital education in ASEAN countries and China. Part of the priority action areas of ACDEA include enhancing research collaboration on digital education; facilitating co-constructing and co-sharing of digital education resources, encouraging the formulation of regional digital education standards; advancing the development of digital education infrastructure, and strengthening capacity building in digital education.

IN PHOTOS | The MAN Program had a productive and inspiring meeting with the heads and preceptors from FMDS affiliate hospitals, namely, Brokenshire Medical Center, Cardinal Santos Medical Center, Los Baños Doctors Hospital and Medical Center Inc., and University Health Service UPLB. The meeting is in preparation for SY 2024-2025 and was spearheaded by aProf. Regine Karla P. Bagalanon (Program Development Associate) with aProf. Ria Valerie Cabanes (Program Chair) and regular faculty members Dr. Queenie Ridulme and Dr. Rita Ramos. Other partner hospitals were Philippine General Hospital and National Kidney and Transplant Institute.Their dedication and expertise will be instrumental in shaping the clinical practicum experience of our graduate students.
