UPOU OGC will Launch its GADTalk Podcast Series this April

As part of the Sexual Assault Awareness Month this April, the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) Office of Gender Concerns (OGC) in collaboration with the Diploma in/Master of Social Work and Diploma in Women and Development programs of the UPOU Faculty of Management and Development Studies (FMDS) will be having the first-ever GADTalk podcast series to be launched on 6 April 2021. Various topics will be released once a month, starting from April until December 2021, which mainly focus on sexual harassment in the cyberspace. The first episode will be released via the UPOU Network’s website and Spotify.

Atty. Eric Paul Peralta, Director of UPLB Gender Center and Assistant Professor of UPLB College of Human Ecology will serve as the resource speaker for the first podcast episode titled: #BEaWARE: Know About Sexual Harassment in the Cyberspace. This podcast is a question and answer (Q&A) type of discussion and will cover topics mainly on the definition of terms, laws and policies related to online sexual harassment. This event aims to address the UPOU’s target of mainstreaming gender and prevent sexual harassment in the virtual classrooms and landscape.

Everyone deserves personal safety regardless of sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation. UPOU stems from this belief, and seeks to promote open communication and be an advocate for positive social change, and empower individuals.
