The UPOU Multimedia Center (MC) conducted an online training program on Animation 101: Creating Educational Materials Using PowToon  from 21 June to 2 July 2021. Ms. Ellaisa Ruth Veluz, Mr. Lexter Mangubat, and Ms. Ann Kristine Medina served as the trainers while the tutors are Ms. Jelaine Bagos and Mr. David Bryce Saguin. The online training was hosted in the UPOU MODeL site. It was participated in by 38 UPOU personnel: 11 faculty members, 2 affiliate faculty members, 9 Research Assistants/Project Staff, 7 admin staff, and 4 student assistants. 

The online training program not only covered animation using PowToon, but also scriptwriting.

UPOU Multimedia Center conduct training programs

 UPOU MC shall conduct the following online training programs:

1) Creating your own podcast, 28 July to 5 August 2021; 

2) Creating learning materials using screencasting, 20 September to 3 October 2021; and .

3) Producing an interactive video material using H5P, 8-19 November 2021.

On the other hand, MC Director Luisa A. Gelisan served as resource person in the FICS MeetUPs titled Developing Audio-Visual Presentations with Focus Video Production on 8 July 2021. She discussed the different stages of video production, types of videos, types of production, and best practices. The training was organized by the Faculty of Information and Communication Studies (FICS) and was participated in by its 12 personnel composed of REPS, Research Assistants, and Admin staff members.

UNESCO-ICHEI met with UPOUAs part of their ongoing collaboration under the Memorandum of Understanding with UPOU, representatives from the UNESCO International Centre for Higher Education Innovation (UNESCO-ICHEI) met with Chancellor Joane Serrano on 31 March 2025 to explore opportunities for accelerating digital transformation in education.Representing UNESCO-ICHEI were Chief Zian Cao and Mr. Zirui Wang from the Global Partnership and Programme Office.
