The UP Open University (UPOU) is set to launch its latest innovation, “Openg”, the university’s chatbot for the UPOU’s Massive Open Online Course platform, UPOU Massive Open Distance eLearning (MODeL) during the 1st International Symposium on Education and AI Convergence (ISEAC) of the UPOU-organized Tri-conference 2023. The launching is scheduled on 23 August  2023, at 8:30 AM and will take place virtually.

The year 2023 holds a significant milestone for UPOU’s Massive Open Online Course platform, UPOU Massive Open Distance eLearning (MODeL), as it celebrates a decade of providing free, open, and lifelong education. To commemorate this achievement, UPOU introduces “Openg,” the newest chatbot designed to enhance MODeL users’ learning journey.

Derived from the concept of openness, “Openg” embodies UP Open University’s unwavering commitment to open education and lifelong learning, fundamental values of the MODeL platform. Openg’s avatar portrays a wise and experienced lifelong learner, serving as an ideal companion for those embarking on their educational endeavors.

“Openg” has been expertly designed to facilitate various aspects of navigating the MODeL platform, such as assisting with account setup, course registration, and guiding users through the intricacies of the platform itself. Users can easily pose their inquiries through either Facebook Messenger or the MODeL website, and Openg will promptly provide the answers and support they require.

To access Openg, the UPOU MODeL chatbot, follow these steps:

  1. Visit the UPOU Massive Open Distance e-Learning Facebook page.
  2. Like the page and click the message button.
  3. Press “Get Started” to activate the chatbot.

You can ask Openg questions like:

  • “How to register?”
  • “How do I reset my password?”

Additionally, you can find Openg on the model website at model.upou.edu.ph. Look for the floating button in the lower right corner. Log in with your Facebook account or as a guest, then ask your questions.

Join us and experience the future of learning with Openg and UPOU MODeL. Here’s to another decade of open education and lifelong learning!
