UPOU Conducts Benchmarking Activity for LPU-Manila

University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) conducted a benchmark meeting with the Lyceum of the Philippines (LPU) Manila today, 2 June 2023 at the Audio Visual Room, UPOU Headquarters, Los Baños, Laguna.

The team of 14 LPU-Manila officials and staff headed by Mrs. Jennifer D. Tucpi, Officer-in-Charge for Academic Affairs, was welcomed by the UPOU Chancellor, Dr. Melinda dela Peña Bandalaria and the Director of the UPOU Office of Public Affairs (OPA), Dr. Myra C. Almodiel. 

Dr. Almodiel led the benchmarking presentation. While Chancellor Bandalaria led the discussion on the UPOU implementing practices in open and distance e-learning (ODeL), including the distance education curriculum/programs, admissions, learner support, student assessment, and the policies and processes for implementing ODeL. 

In line with its mandate under RA 10650 also referred to as the “Open Distance Learning Law” and initiatives to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals no. 4 and 17, UPOU continually bridges different organizations and institutions with relevant mechanisms and supporting services to provide access to quality education.

The University of the Philippines Open University joins the entire UP System in mourning the passing of Dr. Francisco "Dodong" Nemenzo, Jr., who served as the 18th President of the University of the Philippines from 1999 to 2005.
