The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) is searching for the next Dean of the UPOU Faculty of Education. The term of incumbent Dean, Dr. Ricardo T. Bagarinao, will be ending on 31 January 2023. The  Search Committee (SC) is now accepting nominations for the next Dean of FEd until 2 December 2022. 

A nominee must be a Filipino citizen with distinction or outstanding academic credentials in his/her chosen field of expertise and with five (5) years of satisfactory service to the University, or equivalent experience. The nominee must have a commitment to the University and to the unit, to academic freedom, and to the values and ideals of the University. Furthermore, one must have unquestionable moral integrity, leadership qualities or managerial capability, and professional maturity. Nominees must be willing to serve and must consider resource generation as an important function of the position. 

All personnel (faculty and non-faculty), students, and alumni of the academic unit may nominate; other personnel outside FEd,  interested candidates, and the SC may also recommend. 

All nominations must submit a nomination letter indicating the name/s of the nominee/s and the justification of the nomination, duly signed by the nominator/s, and the letter must contain the nominee’s conforme. The nominee’s curriculum vitae (CV) with a two to three-page summary and plans for the unit including his/her flagship programs must also be submitted. 

All soft copies must be in PDF format and shall be sent to Dr. Joane V. Serrano, Chair of the SC, at [email protected]. Members of the SC are Assoc. Prof. Joselito G.
