The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) has released its announcement about the Tri-Conference 2025, an international conference that features three conferences: the International Conference on Open and Distance eLearning (ICODeL), International Symposium on Education and AI Convergence (ISEAC), and International Symposium for ASEAN Studies (ISAS).

This hybrid three-conference-in-one will be held on 24-28 February 2024, at the UPOU headquarters in Los Baños, Laguna, and online. The Tri-Conference 2025, carries an overall theme of “Constancy, Change and Co-existence,” which anchors the conferences as they tackle the wide range of complex and interrelated challenges that require multidisciplinary to pluridisciplinary solutions, with special emphasis on issues related to sustainable education, one health, and threats in digital landscapes.

ISAS will start off the Tri-Conference on 25 February 2025. ISAS 2025, with the theme “ISAS2025: Fostering Collaboration and Embracing Innovation for a Sustainable Future,” is a composite of hybrid activities that showcases the creative and research works of higher education students and faculty from the 10 ASEAN member countries that produce films, multimedia materials, and researches that reflect the narratives of their countries and regional culture. Abstract submission for ISAS 2025 is due on 28 October 2024, for the following sub-themes and topics:

  • Entrepreneurship, Technology, Innovation, and Digital Transformation in ASEAN
  • Indigenous Peoples, Children, Gender, Social Inclusion, and Empowerment in ASEAN
  • Disaster Management, Climate Change, and ASEAN Community Resilience
  • Sustainable Cultural Heritage, Traditions, and Popular Culture in ASEAN
  • ASEAN Sustainable Cities and Communities
  • ASEAN Food Security, Nutrition, and Health

ISEAC will be held on 25-26 February 2025, with the theme “Constancy, Change, and Co-existence: Navigating the Interplay between Education and AI in a Dynamic World.” ISEAC 2025 is a symposium that brings together experts and practitioners from various fields to explore the latest advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and their applications in education. Abstracts for ISEAC 2025 will be accepted until 31 October 2024 under the following subtopics:

  • AI in Teaching and Learning
  • AI for Educational Access and Inclusion
  • AI and Lifelong Learning
  • The Future of Work and AI in Education
  • AI-Enhanced Assessment and Feedback Systems
  • Collaborative Learning and AI
  • Data-Driven Educational Strategies
  • Sustainability and AI in Education
  • Development of AI Systems for Education

The International Conference on Open and Distance eLearning (ICODeL) is a venue for distance education and e-learning scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to share and reflect on experiences, and collaboratively create and explore spaces and possibilities for development. This will be held on 27 February 2025. Abstracts will be accepted until 28 October 2024 under the following topics:

  • Flexible learning for all types of teachers
  • Policy discussions on and implementation of technology use
  • Mentoring and research supervision
  • Integration of quality assurance initiatives
  • Forging of partnerships
  • Service learning initiatives
  • Integration of digital citizenship in curriculum and multimedia materials development
  • Micro-learning through blended or online short courses
  • Experiments and reflections in the application of GenAIs

The University of the Philippines Open University joins the entire UP System in mourning the passing of Dr. Francisco "Dodong" Nemenzo, Jr., who served as the 18th President of the University of the Philippines from 1999 to 2005.
