The University of the Philippines will be participating as a collaborating organization in the 18th Management Association of the Philippines (MAP) International CEO Web Conference (WebCon) 2020, with a hundred UP students and 20 faculty members from four different UP constituent units—UP Diliman, UP Baguio, UP Visayas and UP Cebu—joining in the event and more being invited to participate. Dubbed “A Whole New World: Reigniting the Stalled Global Economy”, the 18th MAP International WebCon 2020 will be held on September 15, 2020, Tuesday, 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. via ZOOM.
The 18th Management Association of the Philippines (MAP) International CEO WebCon 2020 will focus on the challenges of a world transformed not just by the COVID-19 pandemic but by geopolitical and geo-economic shifts even before the pandemic. It aims to jumpstart critical conversation and ignite ideas that would trigger the transformation to a changed business landscape in a new world order. Session speakers include Dr. Jeffrey D. Sachs, Director, UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network; Mr. Blair H. Sheppard, PwC UK Global Leader in Strategy and Leadership; Atty. Amal Alamuddin Clooney, Special Envoy, Global Media Freedom, British Foreign and Commonwealth Office; H.E. Dato Paduka Lim Jock Hoi, Secretary-General, Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN); and Dr. Thierry Apoteker, Chairman and Chief Economist, TAC Economics.
