A new undergraduate degree program in Digital Design and Arts is now offered by the UP Open University (UPOU). The Associate of Arts in Digital Design and Arts (AADDA) offers aspiring creatives an opportunity to explore and express their artistry through digital media, unleash their creativity for a career in design, think like an artist, be agile like a designer, and be confident like an entrepreneur.
The AADDA is a two-year undergraduate program, delivered online, allowing students to learn at their own convenience, and providing flexibility to study while balancing other commitments. It is also a flexible route for learners who are interested in employment and entrepreneurship endeavors, with an opportunity to eventually pursue a full Bachelor’s degree. The program is also open to professionals and practitioners who are keen on advancing their skills for career growth or business pursuits.
Designed to cater to students who are interested in exploring the intersection of digital technology and creative arts, the program aims to develop student’s skills in digital design, multimedia arts, and web development. It also provides a solid foundation in traditional art principles such as color theory, drawing, and design principles. With the rise of digital media, the demand for creative professionals who can harness the power of technology to produce engaging and effective visual content has grown exponentially. The AADDA program is tailored to equip students with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in this emerging and evolving field. Graduates of the program can expect to pursue careers in various fields, including graphic design, web design, animation, multimedia arts, and game design, among others.
A steady pool of experts from the industry will be teaching the courses under AADDA. Students will be working closely with professionals in the field and will have the opportunity to be recognized by top corporations in the field of design and digital arts.
Admission to AADDA is now open for 1st Trimester AY 2023-2024. For more information about the program and admission requirements, visit the UPOU website at www.upou.edu.ph.
