The second project for the Emerging Interdisciplinary Research (EIDR) Program of the UP Open University (UPOU) Master of Arts in Nursing (MAN) program was officially launched on 3 April 2023. This was headed by the Asst. Prof. Queenie R. Ridulme, Project Leader, and it marked the beginning of the implementation of the project, titled “Web-Based Related Learning Experience (RLE) Design as a Resource Activity Material.”

The web-based RLE is an online platform that utilises 360-degree videos of real-world clinical scenarios to develop standardised alternatives to related learning experiences. The platform was designed to provide students enrolled in different courses access to a variety of learning resources and help them gain practical experience in a safe and controlled environment. The web-based RLE is an essential resource activity material that students can use to enhance their understanding of different nursing concepts. The RLE includes realistic simulation of various clinical situations, questions in between scenes, and other supplementary materials that students can access for learning.

In preparation for the launch, a workshop for MAN faculty members was conducted last 25 January 2023 to orient and train them on how to use the RLE activity. An open forum was conducted by the end of the event to solicit feedbacks, issues and concerns from their side. The team, headed by the Phase III Leader, Asst. Prof. Ria Valerie D. Cabanes, conducted a number of dry runs before the launch.

During the launch of the website, the team distributed registration links to students and instructors  enrolled in different courses, allowing them to sign up, access the online platform, and navigate the web-based RLEs for one month before conducting an evaluation by the end of the school year.

The web-based related learning experience (RLE) online platform is now accessible to students enrolled in the MAN program courses. To access the RLEs, students simply need to visit the website and use their login credentials.
