IOP Director Joins Leaders & HR Symposium 2024

The IOP director, Dr. Roberto Figueroa Jr., was an invited speaker in the two-day hybrid 2024 Leaders & HR Symposium (LHRS) hosted by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) on September 24-25, 2024, at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City. The event brought together leaders and human resource practitioners from both the public and private sectors, offering opportunities for professional development, networking, and knowledge-sharing.

Dr. Figueroa took the stage to present a groundbreaking vision of how immersive technology is shaping the future. His presentation focused on the transformative power of virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and Immersive Open Pedagogies (IOP), positioning them as key tools for leadership and human resource development in the digital age.

One of the key aspects of his presentation was the concept of Immersive Open Pedagogies, which highlights the participatory development of immersive open educational resources to create dynamic, learner-centered experiences.

Dr. Figueroa’s presentation at the 2024 Leaders & HR Symposium painted a vivid picture of how immersive technology is not just a tool for the future but a critical component of the present. By integrating VR, AR, and the metaverse into education and various industries, leaders and organizations can adapt to changing demands, innovate their practices, and prepare for a more interconnected and immersive world.

Through his thought-provoking insights and examples, Dr. Figueroa demonstrated that immersive technology holds the key to unlocking new possibilities in education, workforce training, and beyond. As the world continues to evolve, embracing these technologies will be essential for leaders looking to stay ahead of the curve, drive positive change, and create more meaningful experiences in their institutions and industries.

The involvement in this symposium paves the way for further initiatives and partnerships with other government units aimed at strengthening public sector leadership and human resource management in response to the rapidly changing demands of the modern workforce.
