GSIS Honors UPOU for Partnership Excellence (1)

During its year-end celebration, the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) recognized the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) for Partnership Excellence, a testament to UPOU’s continued support and collaboration with GSIS in delivering services effectively. The event was held on 13 December 2024 at Asia Blooms Restaurant in Sta. Cruz, Laguna aimed to recognize the contributions of partner agencies and individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to their roles as Agency Authorized Officers and Electronic Remittance File Handlers.

In addition to recognizing institutional excellence, GSIS also recognized and awarded Mr. Michael P. Lagaya of the Human Resources Development Office and Ms. Janet A. Robledo of the Accounting Office as one of the Collaborative Agency Authorized Officer (AAO) Handlers and Collaborative Electronic Remittance File (ERF) Handlers, respectively. These awards are in recognition of the awardees’ collaborative spirit, effort in implementing new policies, communication of feedback,  willingness for open communication, and proactive approach to ensure seamless operations.

TODAY@UPOU: The UP Open University (UPOU) conducted an online benchmarking session with Star Colleges, Inc. on 22 January 2025 via Zoom. Dr. Myra Almodiel, Director of the UPOU Office of Public Affairs (OPA), and Asst. Prof. Mari Anjeli Crisanto, Director of the UPOU Quality Assurance Office (QAO), facilitated the session. The delegates from Star Colleges, Inc., led by Atty. Kara Russanne D. Alawas, President, explored UPOU’s practices in Open and Distance eLearning, training in the management of Learning Management Systems, and Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) offering quality assurance in distance elearning.Aligned with RA 10650, the Open Distance Learning Act, and its dedication to Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) No. 4 (Quality Education) and No. 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), UPOU serves as a vital catalyst for collaboration among diverse institutions and organizations.
