The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs – Quality Assurance (QA) Team led the first session of the VRTD Series on the University of the Future entitled,  “Quality in the Context of the University of the Future”. Asst. Prof. Maria Rowena Raymundo, Assistant to the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs on Quality Assurance, provided an overview of the university-wide QA initiatives and emphasized the objective of the discussion which was to surface UPOU’s conceptualization of what is quality in the context of the University of the Future.

The participants – composed of faculty members, administrative staff, REPS, and selected students and alumni – were distributed to small groups through breakout rooms to discuss the ”futures” issues relevant to UPOU as a higher education institution and their visualization of UPOU as a University of Future in terms of quality teaching and learning, research, and/or public service in the context of the identified “futures” issues. They were asked to create a statement of their visualization of UPOU as a University of Future in the context of a quality culture.

Each of the groups presented their output in the plenary session. The presentation was moderated by Asst. Prof. Raymundo.
