Civil Service Institute Benchmarks with UPOU for MOOCs LMS

The Univerity of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) Massive Open Distance e-Learning (MODeL) Team conducted a Benchmarking Activity for the Civil Service Institute (CSI), the training arm of the Civil Service Commission (CSC), on 24 March 2023 via Zoom.

The CSI team,  led by CSI Director Fernando M. Porio, and the CSI Learning Management Systems (LMS) Team were briefed about the UPOU programs and the fundamentals of a Learning Management System (LMS) by the UPOU MODeL Team headed by ICTDO Director, Dr. Reinald Adrian dL. Pugoy. With him are Dr. Myra C. Almodiel, Director of the UPOU Office of Public Affairs, and Ms. Shaira F. Tanay, MODeL Administrator.

Director Pugoy discussed the current structure of the ICT Development Office, the software and server requirements of the MODeL website, and the challenges faced by MODeL throughout the years.

CSI aims to empower people and organizations in human resource and organizational development through streamlined and digitized services. Through this benchmarking activity, CSI plans to reach out to a critical mass of government employees by designing and conducting e-Learning courses through its own CSC LMS, which is slated to be launched this year.
