The University of the Philippines Alumni Association (UPAA) has launched the search for nominees for the UPAA Distinguished Alumni Awards 2023. The awards are given to honor UP alumni who have pre-eminently distinguished themselves, based on the concept that “when the prestige of the alumni increases, the prestige of the institution is thereby increased.” The awards ceremony for 2023 will be held on Saturday, August 19, at 4:30 p.m., at Ang Bahay ng Alumni, UP Diliman Campus, Quezon City. All alumni of the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) Master of Public Management (MPM) are invited to the celebration of MPM’s 25th year! Instituted in 1996, the Master of Public Management (MPM) will celebrate its 25th anniversary on 24 February 2023 with the theme “Online, Open, and Onwards: Meeting Challenges Ahead”.  The program will run from 10:00 AM to 9:30 PM at the Centennial Center for Digital Learning (CCDL) Auditorium, UP Open University Headquarters, Maahas, Los Baños, Laguna. The University of the Philippines System Office of Alumni Relations (UPS-OAR) conducted a 2-day Alumni Relations Committee Convention (ARC 2022) on 9-10 November 2022 at the University of the Philippines Diliman. UP Open University (UPOU) Office of Public Affairs (OPA) Director, Dr. Myra C. The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) was recognized by the University of the Philippines Alumni Association (UPAA) with the 2020 Most Distinguished Alumni Award as  UP Health Frontliners during the Conferral of the Award and Dinner for the 2021 UPAA Awardees held on 19 May 2022.  Dr. Melinda dela Peña Bandalaria, Chancellor of the University of the Philippines Open University, accepted the plaque and statuette for the university.  This award was given to UP health frontliners around the world who exhibited patriotic dedication and professional competence during the COVID-19 crisis. The UPOU Multimedia Center organized the Kwentong OU Digital Video and Multimedia Festival and Competition. This was launched in November 2019 as one of the activities for UPOU's 25th Anniversary Celebration in 2020. The members of the UPOU Community  university, particularly students, and alumni were encouraged to share their Kwentong OU through videos. On  30 April 2022, after several postponements because of the pandemic, the awarding ceremony for the festival and competition was aired via UPOU Networks' FB page.
