UPOU students, alumni, employees and friends, magbayanihan tayo!

The Ugnayan ng Pahinungod UP Open University (UPOU) is currently organizing a donation drive for the affected families and communities of Typhoons Quinta, Rolly and Ulysses. Let us put our bayanihan spirit in action by extending our assistance and support to our fellow kababayans who have experienced massive flooding and destruction brought about by these typhoons. 

Those who wish to donate may drop-off their in-kind donations to the Office of the Ugnayan ng Pahinungod UPOU, Community Hub, UPOU HQ, Los Banos, Laguna. Affected families and communities are in need of the following items: 

Food Items

  1. Rice
  2. Drinking water
  3. Easy-open canned goods
  4. Biscuits, noodles
  5. Other ready to eat meals

Non-Food Items

  1. Hygiene kits (toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, toilet paper, sanitary napkins, diapers)
  2. Medicine
  3. Sleeping mats
  4. Blankets
  5. Mosquito net
  6. Roofing materials
  7. Tents
  8. Tarpaulin
  9. Face shield
  10. Face masks
  11. Alcohol

Today@UPOU: As part of the Zero Waste Month Culminating Activities, the UPOU Faculty of Management and Development Studies (FMDS) conducted an orientation on waste collection and characterization strategy facilitated by aProf. Remsce A. Pasahol, UPOU Disaster Risk Reduction - Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation (DRR-CCAM) Member and Solid Waste Management (SWM) Committees, and Program Chair of the Diploma in Land Use Planning (DLUP) program.
