As educators’ obligation to help all students — regardless of discipline — understand the extraordinary moment in which we are living, and its potential for change, the Faculty of Management and Development Studies (FMDS) of the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) will be conducting a Let’s Talk it Over (LTiO): Make Climate a Conversation on 29 March 2023, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM, via UPOU NetworksUPOU Facebook page, and UPOU YouTube channel.#MakeClimateAConversation

UPOU faculty members will discuss the basics of climate change and climate solutions (what and why), how climate change and climate solutions can be part of ordinary conversations, and how it intersects with various aspects of our lives in the context of public management.
Members of the WorldWide Teach-In (WWTI) Philippines, a group composed of a number of UPOU students who participated in a social media internship for climate activism with Bard College, will also serve as resource speakers. They will focus on the role of youth, the elderly and households, and peers in making climate a conversation.
These are anchored on the teach-in webinar’s goal to teach participants to make climate a topic for regular conversations. This also invites all faculty to consider adding the Teach-In to syllabi as a required, or extra credit, event.
The FMDS-UPOU has organized and partnered with the Bard Graduate Programs in Sustainability for the past two years in organizing and conducting Climate Justice Teach-in Webinar. The first teach-in webinar held on 7 April 2021 was through the Master of Environment and Natural Resources Management (MENRM) program while the second teach-in webinar held on 2 April 2022 was a collaboration with the WWTI Philippines.
