The ASEANNale 2023 is open for entries for the International Symposium on ASEAN Studies (ISAS), the ASEAN Food Festival, and the Digital Video and Multimedia Webxhibtion and Competition until 23 July 2023.
ASEANnale 2023 is a cultural dialogue in ASEAN Studies in a multi-disciplinary level among education practitioners, researchers, policymakers, and innovators to explore sustainable development in education in ASEAN. This year, ASEANnale carries the theme “Sustainability in Education: Intersections, Ideation, Innovations” and features three events. Under ISAS, participants will have the opportunity to present their research, share their experiences, and engage in critical discussions on sustainable development. Next, the Digital Video and Multimedia Webxhibtion and Competion aims to showcase innovative multimedia productions that promote sustainable development in ASEAN. Thirdly, the ASEAN Food Festival aims to promote sustainable food systems in the region, and showcase local and regional cuisines that promote cultural identity and food system sustainability in ASEAN using an AI prompt-based recipe competition that brings the level of re-imagined ASEAN cooking in digital, virtual spaces.
The ASEANnale is part of the the Tri-Con 2023 organized by the University of the PhilippinesOpen University in collaboration with UPOU Foundation, Inc. (UPOUFI), Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA), and the Philippine Society for Distance Learning (PSDL). It is a hybrid cultural dialogue where participants contribute to ASEAN studies at a multidisciplinary level. It is a composite of activities that showcases the creative and research works of higher education students and faculty from ten ASEAN member countries.
