UPOU Chancellor to Join Bett Asia 2022

The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) Chancellor, Dr. Melinda dela Peña Bandalaria, is to speak at the Bett Asia Leadership Summit and Expo 2022 on 11-12 October 2022 in Bangkok, Thailand. The event gathers K12 and Higher Education leaders, policy-makers, and educators from the Asia Pacific (APAC) region for leadership-targeted content, discovery, solutions, and networking opportunities to foster innovation and share insights on how to transform education globally.

Dr. Bandalaria, Chancellor and a Professor at the UPOU is also an Executive Board Member of the International Council for Open and Distance Education (ICDE) and ICDE Ambassador for Open Educational Resources (OER). Her insights and experience in distance education and open education certify her attendance as one of the best-sought speakers for the expo. 

Bett Asia 2022 is hosted by Bett by Hyve Group in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, Thailand. Bett sets its in-person event after three years due to the global pandemic in Asia. 

The prestigious event holds its annual flagship show in London, United Kingdom (UK) with a usual attendance of over 33,000 government officials, institutions leaders, and educators.

The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU), through the Office of Gender Concerns (OGC), is committed to ending Violence Against Women (VAW) by launching an 18-day campaign starting today, November 25, in observance of Republic Act 10398.
