On 28 June 2022, the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) team of the Emerging Interdisciplinary Research (EIDR) project titled “Development of a Web-Based Related Learning Experience (RLE) Design as a Resource Activity Material” conducted an ocular visit to Cardinal Santos Medical Center. The project aims to create a virtual simulation by recording a 360-degree view of different clinical setups, simulations, and results based on selected case studies. The project plans to conduct the shooting of nursing simulations in Cardinal Santos Medical Center.
Mr. Raul Pagdanganan, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and President of Cardinal Santos Medical Center and University of the Philippines (UP) Regent met with the team and expressed his full support for the project. The team visited the Emergency Room, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab), Center for Thoracic and Critical Care Medicine, Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Neuro Intensive Care Unit, Cancer Center, presidential suite, and regular patient room. These are the areas where the shooting of the simulations will be conducted in the coming months.
The EIDR-RLE team was led by the project leader Asst. Prof. Queenie Roxas-Ridulme and co-investigator Asst. Prof. Rita Ramos. The team was composed of the project’s research assistant, computer programmers, and expert consultants.
