The UPOU Multimedia Center organized the Kwentong OU Digital Video and Multimedia Festival and Competition. This was launched in November 2019 as one of the activities for UPOU’s 25th Anniversary Celebration in 2020. The members of the UPOU Community  university, particularly students, and alumni were encouraged to share their Kwentong OU through videos. On  30 April 2022, after several postponements because of the pandemic, the awarding ceremony for the festival and competition was aired via UPOU Networks’ FB page. The winners are as follows:

First Place: Pag-asa by Rizaldy C. Tamon, a Bachelor of Education Studies (2019) and Graduate Certificate in Distance Education graduate (2021) .

2nd Place: Salamat UPOU by Dianne Ubaldo (also recipient of the People’s Choice Award), a Master of Development Communication graduate (2020).

3rd Place: Day 1 vs. 930 – BAMS in UPOU by Isaiah Athanasius M. Crisanto, a  student under the Bachelor of Multimedia Studies program.

Each winner received a cash prize and a trophy.

The members of the board of judges of this festival and competition were  Dr. Melinda dP. Garcia, Vice Chancellor of the UPOU Office of Academic Affairs and Chair, Kwentong OU Digital Video and Multimedia Festival and Competition;  Dr. Joanne V. Serrano, Dean, Faculty of Management and Development Studies

and Former Director, Office of Public Affairs and of the Multimedia Center; and Ms. Luisa A. Gelisan, Director, Multimedia Center and Co-chair, Kwentong OU Digital Video and Multimedia Festival and Competition.
