With just a tap on one’s computer, tablet, or mobile phone, one can access millions of information anytime, anywhere. But how can people be sure that the information accessed is true? Accurate? Along with the plethora of genuine information is the proliferation of fake news/information/scams? How can we prevent becoming victims of fake news and scams that can have strong impact in our lives and in our community?
These are some of the questions that shall be addressed in the OPEN Talk episode “Media Literacy: Iwasan Maging Biktima ng Fake News”, which shall be aired on 16 June 2021, from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Today@UPOU: With the ongoing search for the Next Chancellor of UPOU, the lone nominee, Dr. Joane V. Serrano, presents her visions, plans, and programs. Dr. Serrano is a Professor 2 at UP Open University and the current Dean of the UPOU Faculty of Management and Development Studies. Dr. Serrano is a highly accomplished leader in higher education with almost 30 years of experience in government service and 10 years of academic, administrative, and leadership experience. Her vision for UPOU in the next three years is titled “Transformative University of the Future.” The presentation was done online via Zoom and live on UPOU’s Facebook Page. ![]()
