The exhibit features feature salable wood carvings and paintings done by the Banhay Kulay Paete Artist Guild.
The opening ceremony was held on February 18, 2016, 6:00 pm at the UPOU Community Hub. Dr. Grace Javier Alfonso, Chancellor of UP Open University, delivered the welcome remarks, thanking everyone for their participation and their support and appreciation for the local artists. She hopes that gallery viewers will be able to see and realize the stories and inspirations behind the beautifully and intricately carved pieces of wood and paintings. "Through these artworks, may we realize that Filipino artists are truly gifted and are more than capable to produce obras which are truly world-class."
Mr. Joseph Bañez also gave a short message about the Banhay Kulay Paete Artist Guild, which has grown from just a small group of friends and relatives.
