Assistant Professor Reinald Adrian DL. Pugoy recognized for his paper on mobile apps.Assistant Professor Reinald Adrian DL. Pugoy won the Silver Medal for the Young Innovator Award at the 29th Asian Association of Open Universities (AAOU) Annual Conference. He was cited for his research paper titled "Mobile Solutions For Synchronized and Offline Version Of Open Educational Resources."
In his study, Pugoy generated two mobile apps for Android devices that allowed offline viewing of open educational resources (OERs). These apps are Browser-Like Android App and Corona/Worona-Based App. He said that through these apps, individuals can use OERs even when they do not have Internet connection. And once users are connected to the Internet, they shall be able to download updates. The Assistant Professor added that the usability of the apps among potential users were tested and were given ratings of 73.17 and 71.82, respectively. He said that "these scores were higher than the global mean score of 68, implying that both apps are relatively usable."
Assistant Professor Pugoy, teaches courses at the Faculty of Information and Communication Studies (FICS).
