Just like the popular series “Crash Landing on You”, the world has crash landed into the unknown as we are currently facing the crisis that is COViD-19.

With another successful Let’s Talk it Over (LTiO) Session, the Master of Public Management (MPM), University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) Faculty of Management and Development Studies (FMDS) and the Association of Schools of Public Administration in the Philippines (ASPAP), Inc., joined together to be able to impart and contextualize the situation we are in.

Threat, uncertainty and urgency are the three elements of crisis – elements that are all present in COViD19. The speaker, Dr. Kristoffer B. Berse of the UP Resilience Institute and UP National College of Public Administration and Governance, discussed  how to address these elements.

He also shared the different ways that institutions can address threats, how accurate and realistic data can be used to arrest uncertainty and how the Philippines has responded to the urgency of the current situation.

Almost 200 participants joined the LTiO webinar. These participants came from various ASPAP member schools, government agencies like the Bureau of Local Government Finance and the Department of Education, and viewers from the different parts of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

The diversity of the participants and the reach covered by the event shows  how  UPOU continues to find innovative means  to share knowledge  through learning platforms that can still work efficiently despite a pandemic.

The live stream of the LTiO will be available in networks.upou.edu.ph.  It will be edited into learning chunks and will be included in the MPM Video Playlist.
