After an invitation from the Philippine Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Office (RO) 6, University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) Chancellor, Dr. Melinda dela Pena Bandalaria, served as Resource Person for a webinar held on 4 June 2020. 

Participants of the webinar were Deans, Program Heads and Faculty members of Technology and Engineering programs in Western Visayas. The webinar was organized to address the issues and concerns related to the implementation of Flexible Learning Modalities in higher education. 

Dr. Bandalaria tackled the topic “Flexible Learning” and shared invaluable knowledge and best practices that can be applied in this “new normal” of teaching and learning in higher education. 

Engr. Rex C. Casiple, PhD., Chief Education Program Specialist of CHED Regional Office VI, conveyed his confidence in the expertise of Dr. Bandalaria and deemed the knowledge and best practices that she imparted as beneficial to the intended participants. 

Chancellor Bandalaria has been engaged in numerous online events to share about Open and Distance eLearning and Remote Teaching and Learning, as part of the public service initiative of UPOU.
