Their paper presentation titled, “ADDIE in Coffee: Learning Needs Assessment and Design of a Coffee e-Learning Project to Promote Coffee Growing Among Agriculture Students in the Philippines” aimed to confront the challenges in Agriculture industry, and contribute to the nation-building through coffee production. The ADDIE model of eLearning design stands for Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate.

The learning needs assessment done as part of this research gave birth to the project, Digital Coffeetelling. Digital Coffeetelling is an eLearning project designed to attract younger Agriculture students to take interest in promoting coffee growing in the Philippines and produce competent workforce thus strengthening the coffee industry. Results of the research concluded that “Storytelling via eLearning or any other digital platforms, as it has a wider reach and is appealing to the young generation, has a big potential to champion the cause of boosting the Agriculture sector through the promotion of one of its very important commodities, coffee”.

Dr. Gloria Nelson, Sociology Professor and Mr. Greg Meenahan, Director for World Coffee Research, served as the panel of evaluators for the oral paper presentation in the said category.
