Dr. Jean A. Saludadez has been reappointed as Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration of the University of the Philippines Open University. She will serve at the pleasure of Chancellor Joane V. Serrano starting 1 March 2025.
She was first appointed to the position on 1 March 2013 until 28 February 2016 during the third term of then-Chancellor Grace Javier Alfonso and reappointed to the position from 1 March 2016 to 28 February 2025 under the Chancellorship of Dr. Melinda dela Peña Bandalaria.
Dr. Saludadez is a Professor of the Faculty of Information and Communication Studies and the Program Chair of the Doctor of Communication. She has been teaching research courses at the Doctor of Communication, Doctor in Sustainability, Master of Development Communication, Master of Distance Education, Master of Research and Development Management, and Master of ASEAN Studies and has mentored numerous theses and dissertations within those programs.
Prof. Saludadez’s scholarly interest is on the agency framework in organizational communication research. Her most notable publication is a chapter in the Routledge Handbook of the Communicative Constitution of Organization.
Dr. Saludadez is a recipient of several awards and recognition for exemplary work and service to the university, including the Outstanding Faculty of the UP Open University (2015, 2022), International Publication Awards (2006, 2022), and Professorial Lecture Awards (2016–2018, 2019–2021).
Dr. Saludadez holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Organizational Communication from the Universiti Putra Malaysia. She completed both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Development Communication at the University of the Philippines Los Baños.
