UPOU Finance and Admin Staff Members Undergo BULSA and PUSO Orientation

In preparation for the upcoming implementation of the UP System’s new finance and HR systems, selected UP Open University (UPOU) employees undergo a one-day orientation organized by the UPS Roll-out Team for UPOU. This was held on 25 September 2024 at the UPOU Academic Residences Cafeteria, UPOU Headquarters, Los Baños, Laguna. 

These new information systems, developed by the Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research of UP Diliman will replace the existing University Information System (UIS). First to be rolled are the –  Budget, Utilization, and Liquidation System Analytics (BULSA) for the Finance Offices and the Personnel Unified System Outlook (PUSO) which will be primarily utilized by the HRDO. 

The orientation program for BULSA and PUSO was led by Asst. Prof. Josefa Angelie Revilla, the UPOU Roll-out Team Leader.  The participants came from the Budget, Accounting, and Cash Offices, Human Resources Development Office, and selected Administrative Officers and Assistants from all UPOU offices. 

Mr. John Kenneth Punongbayan, Ms. Ma. Liezel C. Eusebio, and Ms. Diane Marie De Silva discussed the data requirements and modules of BULSA. They also focused on the end user’s role in the preparation of financial documents such as OBR/BURS/DV etc. In the afternoon, Asst. Prof. Revilla and Mr. Julius Angelo Galang covered HR-related topics. The event concluded with an open discussion to address the needs of the end-users. 

As per the timeline, BULSA and PUSO’s implementation will start in November 2024.
