Second benchmarking meeting of UPOU Library led by Jennifer Belen-Bunao (Consultant for Library Services) with CLSU Library Head Nuelah Reyes and other library staff and IT personnel of both universities.

The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) Library recently held another benchmarking meeting with the Central Luzon State University (CLSU) Library last 24 July 2023. Participating from CLSU Library were Ms. Nuelah Reyes, Ms. Camia Lasig, Ms. Vanessa Morales, Ms. Roselyn Madia, Ms. Richie Garabiles, and Mr. Ian Panahon.

CLSU Library expressed a keen interest in further exploring UPOU’s best practices for developing and managing institutional repositories, leading to this follow-up benchmarking meeting. The participants were eager to gain practical insights and knowledge from UPOU’s experiences to enhance their own repository systems. Ms. Jennifer Belen-Bunao, Consultant for Library Services, once again showcased UPLOAD and shared some valuable insights and notable practices of UPOU Library. Ms. Christine Faye Pesimo, a student assistant at UPOU Library, conducted another demonstration on the process of file depositing and DOI (Digital Object Identifier) generation in Zenodo, while Mr. Eriberto Roxas, Jr., Senior Systems Administrator of the Information and Communication Technology Development Office (ICTDO), addressed their technical inquiries.

Once again, UPOU was able to share its exemplary practices in managing and providing library resources and services. As part of its dedication to knowledge dissemination and sharing, UPOU looks forward to engaging in similar benchmarking activities with other libraries and institutions to further enhance library initiatives and services for the academic community.

This activity was done in line with UPOU’s mandate under RA 10650 (Open Distance Learning Law), and to contribute to Sustainable Development Goals No. 4 and 17. UPOU continually bridges different organizations and institutions with relevant mechanisms and supporting services to provide access to quality education.
