Dr. Leo Mendel Rosario, an Assistant Professor  at the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU), Faculty of Management and Development Studies (FMDS),  attended the Australia Awards Aus4ASEAN Short Course on Skills Forecasting for the Fourth Industrial Revolution from 5-21 May 2023. The short course aimed to facilitate an exchange of expertise between Australia and ASEAN countries on skills forecasting for the Fourth Industrial Revolution and other emerging trends in ASEAN.

The two-week short course is sponsored by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Australia Awards. Griffiths University implemented the short course in their campuses in Gold Coast and Brisbane and with Jobs and Skills Australia in Canberra. Besides full-day seminars and workshops, the short course also included an exchange of expertise between Australia and ASEAN countries on skills forecasting for the Fourth Industrial Revolution and other emerging trends in ASEAN.

Dr. Rosario was selected as one of the six participants from the 150 interviewed applicants from the Philippines and more than 450 applicants from the whole ASEAN region.

There were a total of twenty-six participants of the short course from nine countries: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
