UP Open University (UPOU) conducted two benchmarking activities for the University of Northern Philippines (UNP) on 25 and 26 April 2023.

On 25 April 2023, the UNP team led by Dr. Irene Guerrero, OIC, PIO and Special Assistant to the President, and Ms. Shareen Navarro, Director of Information Technology Infrastructure Management & Development Office (ITIMDO) were briefed about the UPOU programs and the fundamentals of a Learning Management System (LMS) by Dr. Myra C. Almodiel, Director of Office of Public Affairs, and Dr. Reinald Adrian D. Pugoy, Director of Information and Communication Technology Development Office. The meeting was conducted online, via Zoom.

On 26 April 2023, UPOU welcomes the Environment Management Office of UNP at the UPOU Headquarters, Los Baños Laguna, led by Director Anna Liza V. Europa-Morales. They were oriented about the UPOU and its practices on environment and waste management, as well as the university’s sustainability practices. With Dir. Europa-Morales are fellow UNP Faculty members, Assoc. Prof. Honorato Patubo, and Asst. Prof. Chris Paul Pagaoa.

The visit was coordinated through the Office of Public Affairs and the Campus Maintenance and Development Office (CDMO). Asst. Prof. Cesar Z. Luna, Assistant to the Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration for Infrastructure, and Ms. Elvy A. Pamulaklakin, Chief AO of CDMO, received the visitors and facilitated the discussion.

This initiative is part of UP Open University’s efforts in public service toward the capacity building of open and distance learning teachers and practitioners in compliance with Republic Act No. 10650.
